Hi, here the Clause RCA on the Google extension. Appreciate your support.

Same exact failure, even after updating Chrome and reinstalling the extension fresh. At this point I've tried: reconnect, full extension reinstall, Chrome update, disabling McAfee entirely — all producing the identical "script injection times out on a static page" error. That's a strong signal this isn't something more retrying from my side will resolve; it looks like a genuine bug worth reporting rather than a configuration issue.

it connects fine but every script injection times out (5s for actions like screenshot, 45s for page-read), even on a freshly loaded static page like example.com, and that it persisted through reinstall + Chrome update + disabling other extensions.

This task can wait. One more observation: I've added https://bom.gov.au/ under Site access, an selected 'On specific sites' option. So it should be appearing as an allowed site. However, when I click on 'Permissions' and 'Your approved sites', it states 'No sites have been approved yet.'

That's a really useful catch, and it lines up well with what we're seeing. If "Your approved sites" shows empty even after you've explicitly added bom.gov.au, the extension likely never actually granted itself permission to run on any page — which would explain why every script injection attempt times out identically, on any site, including the plain test page. It's not that the page is too complex or busy; the extension may simply lack the runtime permission to act on it at all.
There are open bug reports in Anthropic's tracker describing similar-sounding permission/approval regressions in Claude in Chrome (approval UI not rendering or not persisting), so this looks like a known category of issue rather than something unique to your setup.
