Preflight Checklist

  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I spent about 10 minutes writing detailed instructions for something I was building. When I selected everything and pressed Ctrl+C, the entire text disappeared. Nothing was saved. I tried pressing the arrow-up key, hoping it was still there, but it wasn’t.

This makes the software feel unreliable. I understand that you’re focused on building AI models, but the software itself also needs to work properly.

You can delete this task after reading. I don’t expect any direct outcome - just wanted to let you know what happened in case it helps improve things in the future.

What Should Happen?

Ctrl+C should have added the selected text to my clipboard and NOT remove the text.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

Spend a long time typing then select it and ctrl+c - but how unreliable the whole thing is I wouldn't be surprised if it works in your testing.
