[BUG] Payment failed at step "Almost done", can't add credit with German credit card

What's Wrong?
Hey there,
can anyone explain why I am not able to add funds to my account for API usage?
When I try to add funds via credit card the input form disappears and instead it displays an animation with a hand and a coin together with the internal processing steps. These are:
Processing purchase...
Verifying transaction...
Processing payment...
Confirming your purchase…
Adding credit to your account…
Almost done.
Then at the last step - after "Adding credit to your account" was shown! - the purchase fails, turning everything back to the input form with the error message:
"Payment failed. Please try again."
Something similar happened when I tried to buy a yearly subscription plan for 200+ USD. The purchase seemed to confirmed, I even had to confirm the transaction manually in my SecureGoPlus App where it is shown as "confirmed". Yet a bit later I receive an automatic email from anthropic telling me the payment failed.
I also contacted my bank's support team. They were not able see any logs of a failed 200+ EUR transaction on the specific date. What they saw was multiple logs of test transactions with 0 EUR (or USD) amount transferred. They are used to verify the card.
When I tried to use my debit card the process failed immediately, telling me that my card is working or accepted or something like that. So it seems that the verification process seems to work.
Similar thing happened when I tried to add funds to my OpenAI Account for API usage. Payment fails but no further error message is shown.
According to the service worker a lot of U.S. based companies are lacking (full?) 3D Security support which can lead to unfulfilled transactions.
Fin AI Support from Claude just confirmed the hypothesis of my banks customer support and suggested to try out different cards from different banks. The AI Assistant does not have access to backend error logs and refused to forward my support request to a human employee at anthropic.
Can anyone explain why exactly the payment fails?
Is this a problem due to improper 3D Secure implementation on anthropics side?
Do other people experienced this exact behavior or something similar?

I do fill in my credit card information manually. No third party like Stripe is involved. So to my understanding there is no "Link" feature or anything like that.
The only payment option which is shown to me is via credit card by filling out the input form.

PS: Credit card worked for literally everything else I've ever used it before including booking flights on international airlines and ordering from foreign shops.
What Should Happen?
Fix payment issues with German (or other non-U.S.) credit cards or offer different payment methods e.g. SEPA or Paypal.

- Open Browser (Firefox, current version) with no extensions
- Go to https://platform.claude.com
- Delete cookies, cache, etc.
- Login
- click "Add funds"
- Change Payment method and manually type in your credit card information
- Click on purchase

Difference: Zero amount transactions work according to customer support of my bank. (GLS Bank)
