C:/Program Files/Git/remote-control disabled server-side — Max account, was working until ~June 30

Open 💬 0 comments Opened Jul 4, 2026 by alaylik-png

Environment

  • Claude Code version: 2.1.108
  • OS: Windows 11 Home 10.0.26200
  • Auth: claude.ai OAuth (Max subscription)
  • Account email: alaylik@gmail.com
  • Org ID: c0332790-d756-4051-8416-f3d3f7aa0f5b

Problem

/remote-control and /rc return "Unknown command" inside sessions. Running claude remote-control as a CLI subcommand returns:

Error: Remote Control is not yet enabled for your account.

This was working until approximately June 30, 2026. Nothing changed on my end — same machine, same account, same subscription.

What I've verified

  • claude auth status confirms logged in via claude.ai, Max subscription
  • ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL is not set
  • Version 2.1.108 (above the 2.1.51 minimum)
  • /remote-control does not appear in /help command list

Request

Please check if disableRemoteControl (or equivalent feature flag) is set on my account/org and re-enable it. Per #57770, this appears to be a server-side flag that requires manual intervention.

Related issues

  • #57770 — server-side disableRemoteControl flag
  • #29265 — /remote-control returns 'Unknown skill' (was working previously)
  • #28322 — /rc not recognized as built-in command
