Summary for reference: on macOS, running Claude Code over an SSH-only session (no local console/GUI login session), the background daemon's on-demand ("transient") auto-spawn can fail with an audit-session error, breaking --bg dispatch. Manually running claude daemon run in the background as a persistent process works as a workaround.
