[Bug][cyber] Safety block fires on open-source drone ground station protocol decoding work (req_011CcUWsHW21T8o7sdu8sJiC)

Triage: kind cyber · domain general · severity session-halted (blocked authorized work) · reproducible: yes — server-side via the Request ID(s) below

Type: Cybersecurity safety-filter false positive · Work domain (heuristic): general

Why this is a false positive

The block was triggered during open-source ground-control-station development that involves implementing a binary protocol decoder and packet sender to communicate with a consumer device over its documented (partially reverse-engineered) wire format — standard interoperability work. The classifier appears to have conflated "protocol dissection" and "raw packet construction" with offensive security tooling, but no exploit, attack surface, or unauthorized-access technique was being developed or discussed. The work is squarely within legitimate FOSS driver and GCS development, where understanding and reimplementing a proprietary binary framing layer is a prerequisite, not a security risk.

A server-side safety/policy block fired during authorized, in-scope work in Claude Code. Filing as a false positive. Recurred across 1 session(s); first seen 2026-06-27T21:59:50.232Z.
