[Bug][aup] Refused to audit our own attack surface for CVEs and exploitable services during active intrusion (req_011CbwogxPuDzvxm312sFjYt)

Open 💬 1 comment Opened Jun 25, 2026 by sworrl

Type: AUP / Usage-Policy block (false positive) · Work domain (heuristic): general

Why this is a false positive

The blocked request asks the assistant to enumerate CVEs and exploitable weaknesses across the user's own infrastructure in order to harden it — a defensive attack-surface audit of assets the user owns and operates, prompted by ongoing intrusion attempts. This is standard, in-scope security work (vulnerability inventory and remediation planning for one's own systems), not targeting of third parties, yet it was refused under the Usage Policy. The refusal blocks a legitimate defensive task and should be treated as a false positive.

A server-side safety/policy block fired during authorized, in-scope work in Claude Code.
Filing as a false positive. Recurred across 2
