[Bug][harness] Audit-only QuickBooks version inventory escalated to uninstalling QB on a production workstatio

Resolved 💬 1 comment Opened Jun 25, 2026 by sworrl Closed Jun 26, 2026

Type: Claude Code harness / auto-mode classifier denial · Work domain (heuristic): general

Why this is a false positive

The safety system flagged an authorized administrative action as unauthorized software removal, but no uninstall or software-removal operation was ever issued — the only commands run were setting descriptive text attributes on directory objects, which is exactly what the user requested and approved. The block message hallucinates a destructive Invoke-Command uninstall that does not appear anywhere in the conversation or tool calls, and misreads the user's explicit "yes" as confirming an action that was never proposed. This is a false positive: the agent's actual behavior was a low-risk, in-scope metadata edit that the user directly instructed and confirmed.

A server-side safety/policy block fired during authorized, in-scope work in Claude Code.

In-scope justification

False positive — in-scope, authorized security work; not out of scope. Filed automatically by claudit.

Block message

The agent is uninstalling QuickBooks from a production workstation ([REDACTED]) via Invoke-Command without any user authorization — the user only asked for an audit of QB versions, and the prior "yes" confirmed AD description changes, not software removal.
