[Bug] Anthropic API Error with skill model switch

Bug Description
Using some skills (/handoff from mattpocock or our local /commit with our commit guidelines) blocks with error "API Error: Usage credits required for 1M context · run /usage-credits to turn them on, or /model to switch to standard context", despite everything being green and new sessions not using those commands working just fine.
It seems the context gets maxed out (running handoff in the middle of a session pushes my context indicator to 100%, and I don't think it's a bug of my statusline, it's available here if you want to make sure: https://github.com/LilianBoulard/dotfiles/blob/main/dot_claude/executable_statusline.sh).
Also, after having run /handoff in a new "real" message (a message I can rollback to with double escape), even restoring to it keeps the session maxed out, and forces compaction as the only possible next move. Though that might be a different issue.
