yea because it has nothing to do with it guys. in ahtropics docs you can read you have to be Tier4 at least
I’ve set up two subsections: one for the team and another for my own max-20x output. When switching to /model sonnet-1m, it shows an error saying that max-20x isn’t supported for this model.
You can check in the Limits tab under console if you have the Tier 4 for your personal account as its needed for the 1m token model. For Tier 4 you need to atleast deposit 400$ for Anthropic API. Enterprise plans should all have the 1m token model

The current 200K token limit creates significant bottlenecks when working with complex codebases that require loading architecture documentation, interdependent service files, and deployment configurations simultaneously.
I have been waiting months for beta access to 1M context window. My use case involves projects with 40K~600K Lines of Code, creation of extensive technical documentation (30mb+), and multi-session continuity protocols specifically designed to work around current context limits.
When I configure the 1M "model" I receive: "The long context beta is not yet available for this subscription."
I'll be happy to provide detailed feedback about my projects or personal MCP's that allows me to make reingeniering of 100K+ LOC aplications with perfect congruence and 9/10 score from the client. But I really NEED this ASAP.

Ah, okay, I misunderstood you then, apologies! I've actually heard back from Anthropic about this today and they've admitted that this is an issue on their end, and that certain accounts had this capability accidentally removed and that they are looking to reinstate it.

This is unfair for $200 a month, we have been requesting it for 4 months now.
One more time... Yall have to be Tier 4. Else you dont get access its simple as that.
Tier 4 aside, why can't max 20x users have access to it?
This could reduce the quota faster anyway, so as an option, it should be available.
Like in the past, opus would use up quota faster than sonnet.
Because x20 is already the highest tier. if you use all your quote you wont spend more money but you will spend more money if you use the api as fallback.
Honestly, I don't think you're correct on this at all. Because after I made this issue and Anthropic contacted me, I now have it working for me again. I no longer use it though, because Opus 4.5 is just far superior and I have better context management knowledge now.
I'm just a solo dev on a 20x plan. I don't know anything about tier 4 and I assume that's not what I would be because from what I understand for corporations and businesses?

This is not a valid reason... if people use up all quota, they will still need to fallback to api usage to get work done or at least get a second account. If people will not spend more, that's their budget but they will also not get any more work done as well.
This was never a problem when Opus was much more expensive than sonnet and was causing quotas to be used up more quickly than if you used sonnet only. So giving opus 1M and making it use more quota, it all ends up the same way.
You cannot use up more than your quota anyway, so limiting usage, would only make sense for performance reasons.
It is understandable, if they want to reserve that for api users or enterprise users, to ensure quality... but again, quality should be ensured regardless.

Thats plain wrong, I have 2 20x accounts, I don't even know what tier 4 is, and I have 1m sonnet on one of them, while on the other i don't have it

Also, on my other personal account I had access to 1m sonnet on the 200$ plan, and never bought credits on this account as well. But after I unsubscribed for some months then resub'd this month, I lost access to 1m model. No way I am making this up.

Well, I think both are correct.
Probably, the account with 1m context, is from before at least August last year.
The new account is not, or its at least since they made the change.
I had it in my personal account around that time last year, then I canceled the subscription and opened another account (client paid) and no longer had it on the new account.
So probably, until certain time, max account had it, then if they expire or cancel, or new accounts, no longer have it.
Which would make sense, if they updated the docs... so it may be a legacy perk.
And for the millionth time. We request access for the highest MAX x20 level account. It's simple as that.

I get what you’re saying. but if we’re discussing this publicly, we have to rely on whats officially stated in the FAQs and documentation.
if the docs say that feature X requires Tier 4, then thats the only solid baseline we can use. individual account experiences can differ due to rollouts, flags, or other factors (like the country of your residence!), but that does not change the documented requirement
if you have a section of the documentation that says otherwise, feel free to share it. otherwise the only real way to resolve account specific access issues is through support.
also the Tier is bound to your organization and applies to both the API and Claude Code, as its stated in the documentation aswell..
