[Bug] Text rendering garbled in terminal on Ubuntu with AMD GPU

Bug Description
i think it's only with fable - but i'm seeing the text in the terminal (VSCODE 1.24) on Ubuntu 24.04/AMD 9900X/AMD 7800XT - i hope i can include a screen shot but it's like trying to read a redacted document.
