[BUG] Status bar token window reset time is off by ~5 hours (timezone bug?)

Resolved 💬 2 comments Opened Jun 11, 2026 by sageview Closed Jun 15, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Claude Code version: 2.1.173

OS/timezone: Windows 11, UTC-5

The status bar shows my 5-hour token window resets at 12:20am, but the Claude desktop app shows ~3h30m (7:20pm).

The difference (5h) matches my UTC offset, suggesting the status bar is misinterpreting UTC timestamps as local time (or vice versa).

The desktop app's value appears correct — it matches my actual usage pattern.

What Should Happen?

The status bar should show the same time that the desktop and Android apps do.
