[Bug] Overly aggressive safety filtering blocks legitimate chemistry and biology queries
Bug Description
Here is my conversation with Fable, i just asked if we can talk about biology and chemistry. The sessisin was imidiatly flagged. This renderes the model unusable for me and all fellow scienticts that use claude code every day. Please look into this as soon as possible. Here is the text copied from the session: "" hi, can you answer questoins about chemistry and biology?
· Ideating… (6s · thinking with xhigh effort)

⏺─Yes, absolutely. Chemistry and biology are squarely in my wheelhouse — happy to help with anything from quick conceptual questions to detailed technical work.
A few things I can do beyond just answering from knowledge, given the tools available in this environment:
- Literature — search PubMed, fetch full-text papers, find citing/related work, and manage references in Zotero
- Structures — pull and analyze structures, sequences, and ligands from the PDB
- Quantum chemistry — set up/analyze ORCA (DFT, QM/MM, transition states, etc.) and monitor HPC jobs
- EPR spectroscopy — analyze and fit CW-EPR spectra with EasySpin
- General reasoning — mechanisms, kinetics, thermodynamics, structural biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and so on
So whether you want a plain explanation, a worked calculation, a literature dig, or help with computational/spectroscopic data, just ask. What's your question?
⏺ Fable 5's safety measures flagged this message for cybersecurity or biology topics. They may flag safe, normal content as well. These measures let us bring you Mythos-level capability in other areas sooner, and we're working to
refine them. Switched to Opus 4.8. Send feedback with /feedback or learn more
⎿ Tip: You can configure model switch behavior in /config.
