Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Claude code will sometimes provide a proposed prompt text (e.g. "try it out"). When I push return key to accept the suggested prompt text a little character sized box with a "?" appears, overwriting the first character, and the prompt is not submitted. What I see is showing in the attached screen capture.

Pasting a prompt in (with ^C) also fails -- the same character sized box appears.

When I asked Claude Code about this, it suggested reporting it as an issue -- so I am doing that here.

What Should Happen?

The suggested prompt should be submitted when the return key is pressed.
Pasting a prompt in with ^C should cause the text from the clipboard to appear.
