What's Wrong?

Description:
Text selection in Claude Code now requires holding Shift while clicking and dragging. This was not required approximately two weeks ago — selection worked without Shift in the same terminal setup.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Claude Code in GNOME Terminal on Ubuntu 22.04
  2. Try to click and drag to select text without holding Shift
  3. Observe: selection does not work; the app captures the mouse event
  4. Workaround: hold Shift while selecting — this passes the event to the terminal

Expected behavior: Click and drag selects text (as it did ~2 weeks ago)

Current Claude Code version: 2.1.165

OS: Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS (Jammy)

Terminal emulator: GNOME Terminal 3.44.0

TERM: xterm-256color

COLORTERM: truecolor
