MacOS:No window appears in any workspace, even after multiple clean reinstalls

What's Wrong?

On my Macbook Air (M1), I have tried to install the Claude desktop app many times, but even though the menu bar shows Claude running but no window appears in any workspace, even after multiple clean reinstalls.

What Should Happen?

I would expect that after installation, I would click on the Claude icon and see a window for it to appear.

Error Messages/Logs

No error message.  I see Claude in the menu bar, but under "File," I only see "Close window."  There's no indication that a window is even open. Nor is there a choice to "Open window."
