[BUG] Cowork crashes on every message, no VM logs generated, missing AppData\Roaming\Claude

What's Wrong?

Cowork crashes immediately on every message, including a blank "hello" with no context or project attached. I have reinstalled twice. There is no AppData\Roaming\Claude folder. The only log file present is chrome-native-host in AppData\Local\Claude\Logs — no Cowork or VM logs exist at all, suggesting the VM never initializes. OS: Windows. Claude Pro account.

What Should Happen?

Cowork should start a task and respond normally

Open Cowork tab in Claude desktop app
Click "New task"
Type "hello" and send (no context, no project attached)
"Claude Code crashed" error appears immediately
