Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When using Claude Code Remote Control (Terminal + Mobile), the session also appears and saves in Claude Code Desktop — even when the Desktop app is fully closed/quit.

Setup:

  • Claude Code Terminal (host) → Remote Control enabled
  • Claude Mobile App (client) → connected via Remote Control
  • Claude Code Desktop → not in use / closed / quit

Actual behavior: Session syncs to Desktop automatically. Conversations are saved in Desktop even after quitting it.

What Should Happen?

When Remote Control is active between Terminal + Mobile only, the session should NOT appear or save in Claude Code Desktop.

Expected: Session visible in Terminal + Mobile only.
Also need clarification: Does this Desktop sync cause double token consumption?

Error Messages/Logs

No error messages. This is unexpected sync behavior.
Token consumption concern: unclear if Desktop sync counts as additional usage.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Code Terminal
  2. Run: claude remote-control
  3. Connect Claude Mobile App to the session (via QR code or session URL)
  4. Use Terminal + Mobile for coding work
  5. Quit/Close Claude Code Desktop app completely
  6. Check Claude Code Desktop after quitting

Result: Session and conversation history still appears/saves in Desktop even though it was closed.

Claude Model

Sonnet (default)

Is this a regression?

I don't know

Additional Information

Issue is specifically with Remote Control feature.

  • Claude Code Terminal = host (remote-control running)
  • Claude Mobile App = client (connected via Remote Control)
  • Claude Code Desktop = closed/quit, but sessions still sync here

Main concern: Does this unintended Desktop sync cause double token consumption?

Request: Option to disable Desktop sync while keeping Terminal + Mobile active.
