Issue: Claude Code loses behavioral context after conversation compacts,
reverts to problematic default behaviors without CLAUDE.md chain
Evidence: Token burn correlation, over-engineering return, ignored
working component protection
Impact: Users need extensive CLAUDE.md files not just for setup but
for behavioral persistence across session boundaries
Recommendation: Document this architectural necessity, or improve
compact context preservation
