[BUG] Auto Archiving Sessions in Use....

Resolved 💬 2 comments Opened May 26, 2026 by myagentworks-ai Closed May 30, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I am currently working on several projects, and it seems that if I do not interact with them for about 15 minutes, the session automatically archives, making it difficult for me to find them later. This issue occurs in Claude Code Desktop, and I have never experienced anything like this before. I have cleared a lot of data, and I'm not sure why this is happening or how to turn off this feature.

What Should Happen?

Claude Destop should have an option to see archived sessions and have a way to restore them.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

There are no steps, work on a session and leave it alone for a few minutes. It first says the session is archived (and a button to select not to archive it) that stays for a few seconds, then that button and session disappear.
