Bug: Desktop app shows "Usage Limit Reached" incorrectly

Resolved 💬 10 comments Opened May 23, 2026 by puttertipat Closed Jul 14, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

The Claude Code desktop app displays a "Usage Limit Reached" message even though usage is well under limits.

  • The Claude Code terminal (CLI) works fine simultaneously
  • The usage settings show no limits are near full (under 50%)

What Should Happen?

The desktop app should accurately reflect the actual usage limits. It should not show a "Usage Limit Reached" error when usage is under 50% and the CLI is still functioning normally.
