[BUG] Pro → Max upgrade fails with "Payment failed" — PaymentIntent voided server-side before checkout completes

What's Wrong?
Attempting to upgrade from Claude Pro ($23/month) to Claude Max ($100/month) on claude.ai
fails immediately with on click of Subscribe button:
"Payment failed. Please try again later. If the problem persists, contact support at https://support.anthropic.com/"
The error occurs the moment the Subscribe button is clicked — no bank-side decline,
no 3DS/OTP prompt, nothing.
What Should Happen?
