Problem Statement

I have a Teams License with 5 seats. I run into usage limits when doing heavy work. While there are mechanisms for switching USEER identities, they are cumbersome to use in practice. Would love to see the ability to switch built-in to Claude Code, Claude Desktop and VSCode. Would save a lot of hassle. After all, I am paying for the extra licenses even if I do not use them.

Proposed Solution

Implement a USER identity switcher built in to Claude eco-system. (Claude Code, VSCode, Claude Desktop)

Alternative Solutions

I have tried serveral workarounds. e.g. Logout/Login in Claude. Changing VSCode user. Multiple OS User accounts; however, all are quite cumbersome and interrupt the flow of work significantly.

Priority

Use Case Example

Example:

  1. Working on a feature in my Teams Account as User1
  2. Usually begin to run out of tokens in my Teams Current Session as User1
  3. Would like to be able to switch to another USER in my Teams Account (User2) and continue working to take advantage of User2's Current Session which would have 0% token usage. I would also have 3 other Users I could use to take advantage of the tokens I have actually purchased in the Teams License.
  4. I am a single developer. Working sequentially would be fine. I could forgo working concurrently on multiple Team Member accounts.
