Every Claude Code session in the desktop app fails immediately with "Claude Code process exited with code 1". The CLI (claude) works perfectly. The issue affects all projects including brand new empty folders with no history.

App version: 1.7196.1
Claude Code version: 2.1.142 (bundled), 2.1.143 (CLI)
macOS: Darwin arm64 (Apple Silicon)
Node: 24.15.0
Electron: (from app.asar)
Hardware: MacBook (ARM64/Apple Silicon)
Login method: claude.ai OAuth

Steps to Reproduce
Open Claude desktop app
Navigate to any project folder (including a brand new empty folder)
Start a new session or send any message
App immediately returns error — no response, session marked unhealthy
What I've Ruled Out
✅ Worktree issues — pruned all stale worktrees, deleted all worktree directories
✅ Session cache — deleted ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude-code-sessions/ multiple times
✅ Local agent mode sessions — deleted ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/local-agent-mode-sessions/
✅ App cache — cleared ~/Library/Caches/Claude/
✅ ANTHROPIC_API_KEY conflict — unset and removed from all shell configs
✅ Binary architecture — bundled binary is native arm64, no Rosetta issue
✅ Binary itself — running the bundled binary directly works fine: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude-code/2.1.142/claude.app/Contents/MacOS/claude --print "hello" returns a response
✅ MCP permissions — granted permissions to all MCP servers
✅ Fresh project — crash reproduces on ~/Desktop/test-project (empty folder, no git, no history)
✅ git availability — /usr/bin/git exists and works (version 2.50.1 Apple Git-155)

Additional Notes
The app swallows the actual error output from the binary, making it impossible to diagnose further from the user side. The Sentry IDs above should have the full crash details. CLI workaround is functional in the meantime.
