Global Claude.md file

I'd like to be able to put a global Claude.md file in my home directory, e.g. ./claude/Claude.md, to record personal coding preferences I want to use on all projects, instruct Claude how to do things like open files in my editor or browser on my machine using bash, etc.

Or if such a facility already exists and I missed it, then better documentation would be helpful.
