[BUG] Claude Desktop crashing after update

What's Wrong?

TL;DR: STOP BLAMING MICROSOFT AND FIX THE CRASHING UPDATE PROBLEM.

When I update Claude Desktop, then try to re-open it, I get an error that it can't open because another program is using the file.

YOUR DOCS ASSISTANT, WHEN ASKED, BLAMES IT ON MICROSOFT. While that might have some validity, NO OTHER APPS ON MY COMPUTER CRASH THEMSELVES WHEN UPDATING.

The onus is on Anthropic to take responsibility and program their updates to avoid this - not just blame it on microsoft and windows. If every other app had this issue - or even ANY other app had this issue - then I would be more understanding.

What Should Happen?

Anthropic to take responsibility and write the Desktop updates to avoid this. I'm sick of having to close down my entire machine and all the other work I'm doing on it just to get Claude Desktop working again.

Steps to Reproduce

1. click the Claude Desktop "Relaunch to update"
2. Attempt to reopen Claude - it fails.
3. Reboot my entire freaking machine
4. Ask Anthropic AI assistant how to fix it - code.claude.com
5. Get a convoluted solution with a "fix" that would take longer than rebooting my machine
6. Push back on the "fix" from the AI assistant about the ridiculous amount of work to "just make it work"
7. Get incredibly frustrated when Anthropic's AI blames it on Microsoft
8. Wonder if the devs are just hanging out and not doing anything about it because, "It's Microsofts fault. We're just insanely highly-paid and -skilled programmers - what do you expect us to do about it? We're helpless!! Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!"
