[BUG] Comments no longer interrupting Claude

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened May 13, 2026 by saasapp-rd Closed May 17, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When typing a comment into Claude code desktop, instead of immediately getting read by claude and potentially interrupting the current claude actions, it now waits on the bottom until claude has completed whatever it is working on. There is no way to interject or steer the conversation, so if you realize an error, you can not stop Claude and you have to wait now.

What Should Happen?

When you type something into Claude code, it should immediately read what you wrote and then decide if that statement/prompt should be acted upon or if response can be delayed. NOTE, this was how Claude used to work before latest update.
