Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

  1. I run claude login (or claude setup-token) in terminal
  2. Browser opens and immediately shows:

"Claude will return soon — Claude is currently experiencing a temporary service disruption."

Error code: 08XN6TZ.1022592012

What I've tried:

Different networks (corporate, home, mobile hotspot)
Incognito browser window
Both claude login and claude setup-token
Anthropic status page shows all systems operational

Environment

Claude Code version: 2.1.139
OS: macOS 25.4.0
Claude Desktop works fine and is logged in on the same machine

What Should Happen?

CLI auth completes successfully like Desktop auth does.
