[Bug] Model mismatch between displayed status and actual model used in execution

Bug Description
User visible model status in Claude code and what is visible to the model disagree !! I have opus as default and status and model show opus 4.7 xhigh, when I asked claude to create a summary for a bug report, it generated this -- ## Environment

  • Product: Claude Code (CLI)
  • Model: Sonnet (as identified in the running session) --

Question is

  • Is opus 4.7 a lazy and garbage hallucinator junk that will make up garbage rather than even check the environment ? or is it a claude code bug ? This seems to be a basic sense of opus4.7 in general.
