[BUG] Backspace/select/cursor disabled after beginning to type in chat

What's Wrong?

Input box frozen after typing — no backspace, no cursor, no click-in. Persists across new sessions. Possibly related to #56750 (input box regression in the v1.6259.x line), but my version is 1.6608.1.0.

What Should Happen?

After typing, I should be able to backspace, select, highlight, delete text, and I should be able to see the cursor. I should be able to interact with the text box after clicking out of it.

2. Type characters
3. Attempt to backspace

Screenshot shows text that can't be selected and deleted.
