Claude in Chrome extension not connecting despite being signed in

What's Wrong?

The Chrome extension appears signed in correctly (account shown in Settings page) but fails to connect to Claude Code. The MCP returns "Claude in Chrome is not connected" on every attempt.

What Should Happen?

Extension connects and browser tools work in Claude Code.

Steps to Reproduce

Install Claude in Chrome extension
Sign in with Google account
Open Claude Code and attempt to use browser tools
Extension never connects
