[FEATURE] /ultraplan (auto | onrequest)

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Apr 30, 2026 by SephReed Closed May 4, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing requests and this feature hasn't been requested yet
  • [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

I use Claude to write code, not plan it. I find that any time I tell it my general plans, it starts creating ultraplans that get in the way. I already have an idea of what I want to do, incremental verifiable updates. Things I want to start with. In the past, Claude would take this approach and it was very effective.

Proposed Solution

/ultralpan disable with an option in ultraplan of "5. No, and tell claude what to do instead".

Alternative Solutions

Maybe just don't tell Claude what my plans are? It can't go off on giant plans if it doesn't know them. But I also feel that context is important.

Priority

High - Significant impact on productivity

Feature Category

CLI commands and flags

Use Case Example

Me: I'm thinking of making something that does x, similar to y, but not so z. It will have these features, etc, etc.

Claude: Okay, here is a multi-page write up of how I will do that

Me: No, I did not ask for that. I would like to start with basic features, and we were honestly still in the ideation process.
