Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

The 5-hour usage window appears to have changed again. On a Max 20x plan I reached the limit roughly 40 minutes into a fresh 5-hour window, from a single terminal session doing routine work — no parallel sessions, no large-scale refactoring.

That leaves the remaining four-plus hours of the window unusable, which is difficult to reconcile with the plan's price point.

What Should Happen?

A Max 20x plan should sustain a normal working session across a meaningful portion of the 5-hour window. If the limits have been adjusted, the change should be documented and communicated in advance.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. On a Max 20x plan, set the model to Opus.
  2. Start at the beginning of a fresh 5-hour window and work in a single terminal session on routine tasks.
  3. Observe the 5-hour limit being reached approximately 40 minutes in.
