Confusing post-install message after /install-github-app

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Apr 26, 2026 by mikgonciarz Closed Apr 29, 2026

Description

After successfully running /install-github-app in Claude Code CLI, the output includes the message:

Install the Claude GitHub App if you haven't already

This is confusing because the user has just completed the installation. The message reads as if the step hasn't been done yet.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Run /install-github-app in Claude Code CLI
  2. Installation completes successfully ("GitHub Actions setup complete!")
  3. A message appears: "Install the Claude GitHub App if you haven't already"

Expected behavior

The post-install message should either:

  • Confirm the app was installed successfully (e.g., "Claude GitHub App installed ✓"), or
  • Not show the "install if you haven't" prompt at all after a successful installation

Actual behavior

The message suggests the user still needs to install something they just installed, creating confusion about whether the process actually completed.
