[BUG] Can't click on any links generated by Claude. says "failed to download and open file".

What's Wrong?

Claude version: Claude 1.3109.0 (35cbf6)
iOS: 26.4.1 (25E253)

I’m experiencing an issue with Claude Desktop on my MacBook where none of the links generated in the app are working. When I click them, I get a “failed to download and open file” error, and I also can’t reliably copy/paste the links into a browser from the app.
For comparison, the same setup works on my Mac Mini (with only minor issues), so this appears to be MacBook-specific.
I’ve already tried:

• Checking default browser settings
• Restarting the MacBook
• Setting up another user account on my macBook and then use Claude
• Fully uninstalling and reinstalling Claude

The issue persists only on my MacBook Pro.

What Should Happen?

Whenever an accessible link is generated by Claude, whether it is HTML for Safari or Chrome or a Word / Excel document. It should open up in the appropriate application without any issues or error.

Generate any link for from Claude and try to open it. It will produce the error code
