[BUG] Mac desktop app: content area text clipped/cut off on left side

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Apr 16, 2026 by kboa25 Closed Apr 19, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

The main content area in the Claude Code Mac desktop app has its left side clipped/cut off. Text in both the conversation area and the input field is partially hidden behind what appears to be a layout misalignment with the sidebar.

For example:

  • Message text starting with "There's this issue..." renders as "sue that's happening..."
  • - "tokens" renders as "okens"
  • - - The input placeholder "commands" renders as "nmands"

The sidebar itself renders correctly. The clipping affects the entire content panel consistently.

What Should Happen?

The entire content area should be visible with no clipping. All text in messages, responses, and the input field should render fully from left edge to right edge of the content panel.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Code Mac desktop app
  2. Start a new conversation or open an existing one
  3. Observe the main content area — the left portion of all text is clipped/hidden
  4. The clipping affects message text, token counts, and the input field placeholder
  5. The sidebar renders normally; only the content panel is affected
