Desktop App: Screen freezes and turns white when selecting text with mouse or opening Settings

What's Wrong?

When attempting to select/copy text using the mouse in the Claude Code Desktop App, the entire screen freezes and turns completely white indefinitely. The same freeze occurs when trying to open the Settings page (e.g. to view remaining credits).

Steps to reproduce (mouse text selection):

1. Open Claude Code Desktop App
2. Click and drag with the mouse to select text
3. The screen immediately turns white and freezes permanently — requires force-closing the app

Steps to reproduce (Settings page):

1. Open Claude Code Desktop App
2. Navigate to Settings (e.g. to check remaining credits)
3. Screen turns white and freezes permanently

Workaround:

• Copying text via keyboard (Ctrl+C after selecting) works fine
• Mouse-based selection consistently causes the freeze

Environment:

• OS: Windows 10 Pro (10.0.19045)
• Claude Code Desktop App: latest installed version
• Note: Two versions prior to the currently installed version, these issues did not exist. The app UI appearance also changed significantly after the recent update.

What Should Happen?

Selecting text with the mouse should work normally without freezing the app. The Settings page should open and display correctly without turning the screen white.
