Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I used Claude Code to create a demo product. Specified to work within local folder and noticed it was using (3) separate work trees to build the code. I asked to merge all into my main GitHub repo and to delete the work trees. It stopped responding after taking that action. I noticed a prompt for a more up to date version so I updated and the MacOS Desktop app has continually crashed since. The specific problem in addition to not being able to type anything into the chatbot in Claude Code is that the LHS of the screen is blank. I can only see text on the RHS of the screen. I've spent 3+ hours following the prompts from your AI agent to fix it with no success at all. I have force quit the app and restarted each time,. The problem persists. Can someone please help?

What Should Happen?

I continue to communicate with Claude Code through the text box as previously. the screen is fully restored. Ideally, no more updates if one has to go through this everytime there is an update
