[BUG] Cowork crashing Issue

What's Wrong?

Hi Anthropic Support,

Cowork started failing on every task mid-day today (April 16, 2026), after working normally for the past month. Looking for help resolving.

Error:
"Something went wrong. Claude Code process exited with code 1. You can restart the conversation from an earlier message."

Behavior:

• Occurs immediately on every task, new or existing
• "Try again" hangs indefinitely on "Reconnecting..."
• "Go back" + resend reproduces the same error
• Reproduces on both Opus 4.6 and Opus 4.7
• Status page shows Cowork as Operational, so this may be account- or client-specific

Environment:

• MacBook Pro, macOS Apple M4 Pro
• Cowork app version Claude 4.6 then Claude 4.7
• Most recent failure: 11:30 ish PST

Already tried (none resolved it):

• Cmd+Q and relaunch
• Multiple new tasks
• Switching between Opus 4.6 and Opus 4.7
• Sign out / sign in
• Laptop restart

Happy to send screenshots of the error and the reconnecting loop, pull logs, or run any diagnostic you need.

It should take over my computer and complete the instructions I sent via computer use in Cowork
