How to customize companion character (Mochi) in CLI?

I've set "personality": "A curious kitten." in my Claude Code settings, but after an update it shows as a cactus instead of my custom companion (Mochi the kitten).

Environment:

• Claude Code CLI: 2.1.92
• Claude Code Desktop: 2.1.109
• macOS

What I've tried:

• Checked settings.json - no personality field found
• Checked backup files - companion setting exists: {"name": "Mochi", "personality": "A curious kitten."}
• Reinstalled desktop app

Questions:

1. Is there a way to customize the companion character in CLI?
2. Was this feature removed in recent updates?
3. Is this only available in desktop app settings?

Looking forward to any guidance on how to restore my kitten companion!
