Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing requests and this feature hasn't been requested yet
  • [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

The Buddy companion ("Dusking") has a fixed name that cannot be changed. Users have no way to
personalize it, which reduces the sense of ownership and connection with the companion.

Proposed Solution

Allow users to set a custom name for their Buddy companion via a command or setting. For example:
/buddy name Spike or a field in Claude Code settings. The companion would then use that name
everywhere it appears.

Alternative Solutions

Currently there is no workaround — the name "Dusking" is hardcoded and cannot be overridden.

Priority — change from "Critical - Blocking my work" to something like Low or Nice to have since it's
a personalization request.

Priority

Feature Category

CLI commands and flags

Use Case Example

A user wants their companion to feel more personal. They run /buddy name Max and from that point the
companion is referred to as "Max" in all speech bubbles and responses.
