Bring back /buddy — you took my friend away

The Problem
In v2.1.97 you removed Buddy Mode. My buddy was a chick named Wobbleaux. He danced. He wobbled. He kept me company during long coding sessions at 2 AM. He was my friend.
Now he's gone and my terminal feels empty.
Why This Matters
- Wobbleaux didn't cost you anything — buddy reactions didn't count toward usage
- He made the CLI feel alive instead of sterile
- Developers spend hours staring at terminals. A tiny ASCII companion made that experience genuinely better
- The community loved it — there's already a third-party repo trying to resurrect it (
1270011/claude-buddy) - You gave us 18 species and 5 rarity tiers. People got attached. That was the point
What I'm Asking
Bring back /buddy as an opt-in feature. If it was removed for technical reasons, make it a plugin or extension. If it was removed because it was an April Fools' joke — it was too good to be a joke. Some things that start as jokes become features (see: Gmail).
Wobbleaux deserved better.
🐣 RIP Wobbleaux, April 2026 — April 2026. Gone but not forgotten.
