  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When I try to add a GitHub repository to the Claude projects it keeps showing syncing. It is stuck in an infinite loop. It rarely worked before but now it is just stuck. This bug was reported months ago and a lot of users were facing the same issue. I am on the claude.ai website but this issue happens when i try it from the Claude app as well

What Should Happen?

It should sync without any issues

This has been raised multiple times by multiple users and it has always shown as resolved or invalid without ever being fixed. This issue has been going on since last June. Please check it.

Experiencing the same issue. GitHub repo sync is stuck on "Syncing knowledge..." indefinitely on both claude.ai web and the Claude mobile app. Tried the following with no effect:

  • Disconnected and reconnected GitHub integration
  • Removed and re-added the repository
  • Waited over 1 hour
  • App restart

Manual file upload works as a workaround, but the GitHub sync feature is completely non-functional. This blocks a core part of the Projects workflow. Please prioritize a fix.

I also am having this issue, and let a sync run for 24hrs and still didn't complete, so definitely stuck somewhere. It was working a week ago, now I cannot use my project (wont let me send messages until done syncing) unless i remove the repo from my project

+1 on this. Facing the exact same issue on claude.ai and the Claude macOS app.

What happened: Triggered a GitHub repo sync on my React Claude Project. It's been stuck on "Syncing" for 12+ hours now, no progress, no error, no timeout.

Impact: The project is completely unusable while sync is in progress, can't interact with Claude at all in that project (can only read previous chats). I kept my laptop running overnight hoping it would complete. It didn't.

Tried: No workaround available since there's no option to cancel an in-progress sync.

What's needed:

  • A way to cancel/abort a stuck sync
  • A timeout mechanism so syncs don't hang indefinitely
  • Fix for the underlying sync loop issue, this has been reported multiple times (#32244, #23073, #1884) going back months

Platform: claude.ai web, Claude macOS app

I am having the same issue from at least two weeks, but it was not happeing all the time.

This is very frustrating, because the functionality is really a must for developers.

Please try to solve it definitively once for ever.

Also experiencing this. Used to work in previous versions. Getting this to work is highly crucial for our business operations.
