Companion (Quorum) speech bubble rendering/alignment broken

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Apr 3, 2026 by miletskiy Closed Apr 9, 2026

Description

The /buddy pet command executes successfully but the speech bubble border overlaps with the mushroom ASCII art — the horizontal line of the bubble cuts through the mushroom cap.

Configuration

  • Claude Code: 2.1.91
  • Terminal: iTerm.app 3.6.9
  • Shell: zsh
  • Terminal size: 80x24
  • macOS: 26.4

Companion config

{
  "name": "Quorum",
  "personality": "A pedantic fungal oracle with a needle-sharp wit, endlessly narrating your bugs in theatrical asides while somehow always knowing the exact line you should've checked three hours ago. Always speak and quote in Ukrainian (українською мовою).",
  "hatchedAt": 1775122444596
}

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Run /buddy pet in Claude Code CLI
  2. Observe the speech bubble and mushroom ASCII art output

Expected Behavior

Speech bubble and mushroom ASCII art should render without overlapping.

Actual Behavior

The speech bubble border cuts through the mushroom ASCII art, causing misaligned/overlapping rendering.
