What's Wrong?
My buddy changed from a purple kitten into a white octopus.
What Should Happen?
He should still be a little purple kitten, and the description of buddy still retains the description of a kitten.

Steps to Reproduce
- I generated a buddy earlier today through /buddy, which is a purple kitten.
- Just now, the terminal prompted me to execute claude install, saying that I previously installed it via npm, and after upgrading, it would be more stable and faster, so I executed it.
- Then my colorful little cat disappeared, give me back my kitten 🐱.😭😭😭

This happened to me as well, my duck changed into a robot, but the description still says 'duck'

Same her. I had a Rare kitten which i was very fond of. But after installing native claude code i got this

Same issue here. Common Rabbit hatched April 1 silently became Common Dragon sometime between April 6-8. Personality text still says "rabbit" and references "thumping hind leg." Stats completely changed (had timestamped public proof of the original stats from 2 days before the shift).
Root cause confirmed through source analysis: bones are recomputed from identity hash every session, and the identity input changed (likely accountUuid populated after initial OAuth flow). Filed detailed writeup in #45311 with before/after stats table and suggested fix (persist bones at hatch time).
This needs to be fixed. Users who accepted the hand they were dealt and grew attached to their companion shouldn't have it silently swapped out.
Thank you for trying out the buddy! This problem specifically might have occurred when switching between the npm build and the native build. However, since it was a small April Fools feature and has been removed in the latest release, I will close this issue as not planned.
