[BUG] "illegal hardware instruction" on Intel Core i7-3615QM @ 2.30GHz

What's Wrong?

I followed the instructions and install with Homebrew, I got 🍺 claude-code was successfully installed!.
I tried to verify that Claude Code was working after installation, but it didn't with "zsh: illegal hardware instruction" on macOS 15 with intel Core i7 CPU.

Environment:

  • MacBook Pro: Retina, Mid 2012
  • macOS: Sequoia 15.7.4 (24G517)
  • CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3615QM CPU @ 2.30GHz
  • Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Request: Please provide builds working on Intel Core i7, or document minimum CPU requirements.

What Should Happen?

Claude Code is not work.

$ claude --version
zsh: illegal hardware instruction  claude --version

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install Claude Code: brew install --cask claude-code
  2. Check Claude Code version: claude --version
  3. Error appears: zsh: illegal hardware instruction

Additional Information

My MacBook doesn't officially support macOS 15, so I installed it using the OpenCore Legacy Patcher.
