What Should Happen?

Claude Code Windows 11 Desktop App needs to recognize, install, and correctly run the Virtual Machine service.

Steps to Reproduce

Followed all the steps directed by Claude Chat Sonnet 4.6 to resolve the issue, and this is what it directed me to do:
This confirms everything:

Windows 11 Pro ✅ — edition is not the issue
%APPDATA%\Claude doesn't exist — the VM bundle has never downloaded, the VM has never tried to start

This is 100% the yukonSilver detection bug. Your system is perfectly configured; Cowork is just misclassifying it and giving up before doing anything.

There's nothing more you can do on your end — your configuration is correct. This needs a fix from Anthropic's side to correct how Cowork detects supported VM configurations. Sorry it's not a better answer, but at least you can stop troubleshooting your own system!
