Session limit resets but immediately shows 100% used again

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Mar 29, 2026 by ppiankov Closed Mar 29, 2026

Description

Session usage limit resets (timer changes from "Resets in 2 hr 10 min" to "Resets in 4 hr 44 min") but immediately shows 100% used again — within less than a minute of the reset. No requests were made between the reset and the new 100% state.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Hit session usage limit (100% used)
  2. Wait for reset timer to expire
  3. Observe: session resets but immediately shows 100% used again
  4. No usage occurred between reset and new 100% state

Screenshots

Before reset: Current session 100%, resets in 2 hr 10 min, weekly all-models 45%, extra usage $270.10 of $270 (100%)

After reset: Current session 100%, resets in 4 hr 44 min, weekly all-models 58%, extra usage $397.53 of $600 (66%)

The session limit went from "resets in 2hr 10min" to "resets in 4hr 44min" (new window), but immediately showed 100% used again. Weekly went from 45% to 58% which is plausible across the wait period, but the session jumping to 100% at the exact moment of reset is not.

Additional context

  • Plan: Pro with extra usage enabled
  • Extra usage balance was $0.00 at one point (had $51.15 previously but hit monthly cap)
  • After increasing monthly limit from $270 to $600 and buying more credits, the same pattern continued
  • Sonnet weekly limit shows 0% used throughout — only Opus/all-models affected
  • This has happened before — a previous support ticket was filed and the issue was eventually fixed, but it has recurred
