[BUG] Sudden Reduction of Max Plan Usage Limits – Without Prior Notice

Hello Anthropic team,

I’m a paying subscriber of the Claude Max plan, and like many other users, I’ve recently experienced a significant reduction in the number of allowed messages per 5-hour window, with no prior communication or notice.

Previously, the Max plan allowed hundreds of messages and smooth usage of Claude Opus 4 throughout the full session. However, I now hit the “usage limit” message after significantly fewer prompts, often well under what was promised in the official support articles. In addition, the forced downgrade to Claude Sonnet happens far earlier than the 20–50% Opus usage threshold described on your documentation.
