Preflight Checklist

[x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported with this specific combination of symptoms

[x] This is a single bug report

[x] I am using the latest version of Claude Desktop

Summary

Claude Cowork Dispatch has been returning empty responses to all queries sent from iPhone for the past three days (since approximately March 23–24, 2026). Messages show as "read" on the iPhone, indicating the desktop is receiving them, but no substantive response is returned — the response field remains empty. This behavior persists across all query types without exception.

What's Wrong?

Symptom

Every Dispatch query sent from iPhone shows as "read" but returns a completely empty response. No partial output, no error message, no status indicator — just silence. This affects all queries, not a subset.

Duration

Ongoing for 3+ days as of March 26, 2026. Onset coincides with the confirmed Anthropic platform outage (elevated connection reset errors in Cowork) on March 25, 2026.

What Has Been Tried (No Effect)

Force-quit and relaunch of Claude iOS app on iPhone

Full close and relaunch of Claude Desktop on Windows desktop

Multiple query attempts across different sessions and time periods

Steps to Reproduce

Open Claude Desktop on Windows 11 Pro machine (Dispatch tab active, Cowork session live)

Open Claude iOS app on iPhone — Dispatch thread is paired and visible

Send any query from iPhone via Dispatch (simple or complex, does not matter)

Observe: message shows "read" status on iPhone

Observe: response area remains empty — no response delivered

Expected Behavior

Dispatch query sent from iPhone should be received by Claude Desktop, processed, and a response should be returned and displayed in the Dispatch thread on the iPhone.

Actual Behavior

Message is marked "read" (confirming desktop reception), but no response of any kind is returned to the iPhone. This is consistent across all query types for all sessions over a 3-day period.

Environment

Additional Context

This issue appears distinct from (but possibly related to or triggered by) the following open/recent issues:

Issue #37713 — [BUG] Dispatch sessions are fully isolated from Projects — no shared context, working directory, or cross-device access

Issue #36798 — [BUG] Dispatch: connectors configured in Cowork are not accessible from iPhone

The key difference in this report: the bug is not partial degradation of Dispatch functionality — it is a complete failure to return any response to the mobile client, despite the desktop appearing to receive and "read" incoming messages. The session pairing appears intact on the surface (messages are marked read) but the response delivery pipeline is broken entirely.

Hypothesis: The March 25 Cowork connection reset outage may have corrupted the session state or response routing channel between the desktop Dispatch session and the mobile client, in a way that persists even after the platform-level incident was declared resolved. A re-pairing mechanism (QR code re-scan) or server-side session reset may be required to restore function.

Requested Fix / Workaround

A server-side session reset or re-pairing mechanism that does not require a full reinstall

Confirmation of whether the March 25 outage can corrupt Dispatch session state in a persistent way

If a workaround exists beyond force-quitting both apps and restarting Claude Desktop, please document it
